LSOs (Lutheran Schools Officers) are the administrative staff who ensure the school functions from day to day and the classroom LSOs who work with teachers to ensure that classroom and outdoor environments function also. All of these wonderful staff members are a blessing to our children and our community. This week, we celebrate them and their dedication and generosity. We invite you to join with us in sharing gratitude for LSOs this week.
Some weeks, I think that we have completed a task, and unfortunately, I haven’t quite pressed ‘send’. This was my situation last week as I headed to a conference without sending this important message for Inspire.
Thank you to all fathers for the important role that you play in your modelling for children and your love for them as dads. We are so blessed to have so many fathers involved in our school community and I am thankful that so many of you were able to join our school community for Father’s Day breakfast on Friday morning. Thank you!
The St Paul Lutheran School Board is the governing body of the school. Each month, the Board meets to set and oversee the strategic intentions of the school, as well as being updated regarding financial, risk and compliance elements that ensure the school operates effectively and sustainably.
We are currently seeking nominations for the St Paul Lutheran School Board, beginning 2025. We have a casual vacancy for a two-year term from 2025-2026 and a vacancy for a full term of three years. After their initial terms, board members have the option of nominating for further terms. We have an engaged skills-based board, and we are specifically looking for members who have skill sets in the areas of Education, Law, Marketing, Community Engagement, Financial Management or Human Resources.
If you are interested in nominating, please contact Leila Mattner (lmattner@stpaulba.sa.edu.au) or Merryn Ruwoldt (mruwoldt@stpaulba.sa.edu.au). If you are unsure that you fit the skill set, we encourage you to nominate anyway, or contact us for a conversation. We look forward to hearing from you!
Thank you to our special guests who attended the SPLASH building opening today: Member for Enfield, Andrea Michaels; Ron Erkhe representing the St Paul Lutheran Church Congregation; Mignon Weckert, representing Lutheran Education SA, NT and WA, Kirsty Nilsen representing our school Board, Jess Harrison, Director of St Paul Lutheran After School Hours Care, and our SPLASH children representatives: Shamshir, Jack, Samantha, Thea, Oscar, Maddy, Allegra, Jack, Harry, Elijah, Captains Thomas and Elyssa, and all of our St Paul Seniors.
At St Paul Lutheran School, we acknowledge the importance of building spaces and the environment for children as a place of belonging and learning.
When a child and a family joins our St Paul community, it is important to us that they can see and feel this space as theirs to belong. As with our classroom learning spaces, our Out of School Hours Care space is designed to feel like home – with places to cook together, eat together, play together, learn together and relax together. Natural light and natural environments combine with the built and curated space to welcome and embrace.
For a long time, the St Paul Church congregation have generously shared space with us for SPLASH in the Hall and Church, and we share our deep gratitude to them for working in, around and with us in these spaces. Whilst we continue to share the Hall, we celebrate the additional space we now have. And what a fabulous space it is!
I thank the teams of JPE Architects and Pascale Construction for their work in helping us to design and build the SPLASH building and our school board for their support. I would also like to sincerely thank our SPLASH staff team and the children of SPLASH for their input in design, which seems so long ago now! And I would particularly like to thank our Business Leader, Mike Kroon, for his tireless work throughout the project.
