Australian Mathematics Competition Success at Endeavour College
Each year, the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT) hosts the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), open to students from Years 3 to 12. This prestigious event challenges students with problems that enhance
problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical skills.
The AMC encourages fast thinking under time pressure, giving secondary students 75 minutes to complete 30 questions.
No calculators are allowed, which sharpens mental math and estimation skills.
The competition's unique questions test students' ability to apply familiar concepts in new ways, fostering creativity.
At Endeavour College, we are proud to report outstanding results in this year's competition. Voluntary participation saw 130 students take up the challenge, with an impressive 50% achieving a Credit or higher.
Distinctions, awarded to students ranking in the top 20% for Years 8-10 (25% for seniors), were earned by eleven students, reflecting the strong mathematical talent and dedication within our community.

Kayla Georg
Kayla (Year 10) has been awarded a prize in the Governor's Civic's Award for Schools. For this prestigious award, students write a speech to be read at Parliament House that promotes an issue of civic interest. Kayla's essay advocated for a change in attitudes to disability, especially in young people. Congratulations Kayla on this significant achievement and for standing firm in your beliefs, with the intention to positively influence.
Charlotte Mudge
Charlotte (Year 10) has won a prize in the Spring Poetry Competition. This competition is run annually by the South Australian English Teachers' Association who select a series of poems to be awarded and published in one of their publications, Spring Poetry 2024.
Students from all levels of schooling can submit their poetry for consideration.
Charlotte submitted her work as part of her involvement in the Big Ideas Club. Congratulations Charlotte for your courage and bravery to showcase your poetry to a wider audience. What an amazing feat, and well-deserved recognition.
