Meet our wonderful teachers...
Hello SMPS students and families!
My name is Miss Olivia and I will be teaching Prep A in 2025. This will be my eighth year in teaching and my second year at SMPS.
I have spent most of my life in Melbourne but spent the first six years of my schooling in America. In 2023 I was living and teaching in London, which was an amazing experience! Living in the UK meant my love of travel has grown even more. I was lucky to be able to travel around Europe in school holidays.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my family and friends. When it’s sunny, I’m out going for walks to get a coffee and curling up on the couch with a good book when it’s cold.
I am incredibly excited to continue my journey at SMPS and look forward to meeting you all!
Hello SMPS students and families!
My name is Miss Baraa, and I’m thrilled to be joining South Melbourne Primary School next year. It will be my first year at this wonderful school and my second year teaching in Melbourne after moving from New Zealand, where I grew up.
In New Zealand, I spent my time worrying my mum by kiteboarding, going on solo overnight hikes, and surfing. I also love reading and spending time with my big, grey lazy cat.
Life in Melbourne has been a big adjustment - I’ve traded waves for city trams and big spiders! I’ve been loving the incredible cafés, restaurants, and summer concerts.
I can’t wait to dive into the year ahead, meet all the students and families, and share in the exciting adventures of SMPS.
See you all in 2025!
Hello SMPS students & families,
My name is Miss Ciara, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher next year in South Melbourne Primary School in 2025. This will be my 6th year in teaching and my first full year here in SMPS. I am very excited to get to know your child and share an exciting year of learning, fun and adventures together.
I grew up in Ireland with my mum, dad, brother John and sister Laura. I began my teaching career in Ireland before moving to Melbourne in 2023. I am thoroughly enjoying my time here in such a fun, positive and welcoming city.
In my free time, I like to go to the gym, go for walks in the park, grab a coffee and spend time with my family and friends.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season, and I’m looking forward to a wonderful 2025!
Warmest regards,
Miss Ciara
My name is Charlee, and I am so excited to be apart the Prep teaching team at South Melbourne in 2025. I have been very fortunate to be a part of SMPS as a teacher in both Year 1 and Prep. I have loved working with the students and celebrating their growth.
A little bit about me, I grew up on the Bass Coast and attended school on Phillip Island, (although sadly, I am not a proficient surfer). Growing up I loved dancing, musical theatre and was a competitive swimmer. I have completed my tertiary studies at Swinburne University of Technology attaining a Bachelor of Education (Primary). I am a very proud mum to my cavoodle puppy Alfie.
I am looking forward to another amazing year in Prep as a part of such a wonderful, welcoming, and vibrant school community and building strong relationships with my students and their families.
Hello SMPS community,
My name is Miss Anna, and I am so excited to be teaching Prep in the 2025 school year. This will be my fourth year teaching, though my first at South Melbourne Primary School. I can’t wait to get to know all the students and their families. The year will be full of laughter, growth, and new friendships!
Originally from the United States, I moved to Melbourne this past July. Back home, I loved escaping the cold by spending time along the coast and hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
When I’m not at school, you’ll often find me trying out new restaurants, taking long walks along the river, or exploring Melbourne’s amazing markets. It’s been such a joy to explore this beautiful country and meet new people.
I am looking forward to an amazing year at SMPS!
