Principal’s Report
Welcome back to St Kilian’s School for Term 4. It is a great time of the year, with the weather warming up and more daylight to enjoy after school activities. I hope all students and families had an enjoyable break and are recharged and ready to face the rigours of the final term of the year.
Term 4 is always a busy one. The students, again, will be engaged in diverse and challenging learning tasks and activities. As parents, you can continue to be part of your child’s/children’s learning at home, by taking an interest in the activities that have taken place at school. We look forward to the challenges ahead and celebrating all of the wonderful learning the students will make.
Summer Uniform
Students will be asked to transition over into their summer uniform by week three of Term 4. I ask for the parents' support in ensuring the students are wearing the correct uniform, in particular, the correct socks and no brand names.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
This Friday, the school celebrates ‘Grandparents and Special Friends Day’. I believe the students should be proud of belonging to such a wonderful school and this is a great opportunity for them to share their pride in the school and work completed in it with their grandparents and special friends.
I know that some students in the school will not be able to invite a grandparent and/or special friend due to different reasons. However, I am sure that invited guests will take an interest in all of the students and their work in the school, not just a selected few. Furthermore, parents and other family members are considered to be special friends and could be invited accordingly.
The grandparents and special friends are invited into the classrooms between 9:00am until 9:45am. This will be a very informal session, as the students will be working independently and/or in small groups. Grandparents and special friends will have the opportunity to walk through the classrooms and observe the students working. They may even wish to engage in the activity and a conversation with the students.
The grandparents and special friends are then welcome to join in the Whole School Mass at 10:00 am, followed by morning tea at 11:00 am in the school grounds. The morning tea will finish at 11:40 am. Students will receive an icypole for morning tea and whilst special friends will be invited to share a cuppa and muffin with each other.
Please note the TUCKSHOP will be closed this week due to Grandparents and Special Friends Day.
Regional Athletics
Next week we have some students who will represent St Kilian’s at the Regional Athletics. We wish them all the very best.
Grade 5 Camp
At the end of last term our Grade 5 students spent three days at Campaspe Downs camp. The students had a delightful time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Special thanks to Mr Williams, Miss Turpie, Mrs Maher and Chrissy for supporting this adventure.
Courage and Crowns
Dear Mums and Girls of Grades 4-6
We are so excited to be bringing Courage and Crowns to our school! Megan will be here on Wednesday, 16th October (Grade 4 Girls) and Thursday, 17th October (Grade 5/6 Girls). She will work with the girls during the days and spend a special 1.5 hours with Mums and Girls in the evening of Thursday, 17th October at 6 pm. Megan specialises in teaching young women about self-love and self-worth. She has seen the changes and gifts that learning to love yourself brings. Please ensure your seats are saved for the evening session by RSVP via this link: https://courageandcrowns.com/school-signup/17-October To learn more about Courage and Crowns, you can go to: courageandcrowns.com
Attendance
We want to remind everyone of the importance of regular attendance. Every school day counts, and each day a child is absent means a missed opportunity for learning and growth. We ask for your support in promoting consistent attendance to ensure that every child can benefit fully from the opportunities we provide. Term 4 promises many opportunities with warmer weather and less illness it will be important to be at school and work towards achieving our goals
