Our new Industrial Officer

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Phillip Banks and I am looking forward to undertaking the role of APF Industrial Officer beginning 29 January 2024.  I know I have big shoes to fill following Mark into the role and will do my best to maintain the very high standard he has set.  

I have very recently retired after 38 years with the Department. During that time I was a principal for more than 30 years and will therefore bring a wealth of experience and understanding to the role. My most recent school was Preston North-East Primary in Melbourne. Throughout my long tenure with the Department, I have had experience in both rural and Melbourne suburban schools.  

My association with the APF has been a long one and I have been a great advocate and supporter of the Federation and the important work it undertakes in representing and supporting school leaders. I am very excited about this new opportunity and am looking forward to working with members in your rewarding but at times challenging positions.
