Junior School News
Congratulations to our Year Two's on completing their last ever Heggerty Lesson!
It's true, they never thought this day would come! We take immense pride in the exceptional effort these students have dedicated to their Heggerty lessons every morning over the past two years.
Prep
In the last fortnight, our Preppie students have been studying the 'pitch rule,' exploring the ch/tch sound, and delving into the 'sail away' rule, focusing on ai/ay sounds.
In Maths, our Preps are currently mastering place value and the decomposition of numbers into tens and ones.
Year One
In our writing sessions, our Year one students are mastering the art of constructing sentences by incorporating basic conjunctions such as 'but,' 'so,' and 'because.' They eagerly applied these newfound skills by crafting sentences in letters to Santa!
In Maths, students are delving into vertical addition, with some pupils bravely experimenting with regrouping!
Year Two
In MSL, the Year Two's focus lies on rare long vowels, specifically exploring patterns such as:
- "eigh" as in eight- "ey" as in see- "oe" as in foe- "eu" as in feud
Additionally, they are examining words featuring a third 'Y' and ending with a magic 'e,' including:
- Thyme- Rhyme- Analyse
In writing, our Year Two's are learning about letter writing. They've written letters to their Year Three teachers, posing questions and expressing their anticipation for the upcoming year.
Year Two's have also been recipients of letters from our current Year 3 students, offering guidance for the upcoming year and sharing exciting prospects for life as a Year 3.
2P had lots of fun decorating their Christmas Tree!
Look who's back, back again!
Let's hope these elves behave themselves while they're at school!
