Vocation Education

and Training

Manufacturing and Engineering

Year 12 students are progressing through their major fabrication project, a truck style tool chest. They are working as a team to ensure the efficiency and quality of work produced is to a high standard. Some extra tasks have been undertaken including a mailbox repair and maintenance items around the workshop. Students are looking forward to their first round of work placements where they can demonstrate their skills and knowledge in the industry of their choice.

Business Services

Year 12 students have been gaining hands-on practical experience in the classroom. They have assisted the Office Staff in creating new canteen and cafe price lists, designing place cards and cover sheets for the Graduation, and have assisted Mrs Bright by preparing affirmation cards and tribe bandanas for the Year 9 Girls Camp.

Students have also begun producing business documents, media and advertising for their upcoming pop-up shop which will be open during the final few weeks of the term.

Preloved Perfection will sell affordable quality second hand items of clothing to students and staff, with prices ranging from $3 - $15. Students have also recently completed their first week of work placement at various locations across the region. It has been most pleasing to hear the encouraging feedback from the host employers about our students' positive contributions to their workplace.

Construction

Construction students are showing some great skills in the production of their dog kennels. The team task requires students to lead, delegate and communicate effectively to produce a product using construction tools and techniques. Use of drop saw, wall saw, circular saws and nail guns allows students to develop safe and confident work practices.

Hospitality

Year 12 students are experiencing their final work placement out in industry this term. Thank you to the local businesses that supported the Hospitality students with their work placement. Year 12 have been undertaking 4 service periods for their Non Alcoholic Beverage unit of competency.
