Year 1/2

 We can't believe how quickly this year has flown!! We are so very proud of our Year 1/2's. They have worked exceptionally hard throughout 2023, and it is wonderful to witness the academic and personal growth that each and everyone has made. 

A big thank you to our amazing parents and families.  We wouldn't have been able to achieve what we have without your ongoing support! As a teaching team we wish our 1/2s all the very best for 2024 and we're confident that they will continue to achieve amazing things!

CFA Visit

Modewarre CFA came to school on Friday 24th of November. They spoke to students about how to safe around fires and how to be fire ready. Students were very curious and asked the CFA lots of great questions. The 1/2's loved exploring the fire truck, trying on all the fire fighting clothing and were very surprised of weight of the items. 

School Concert

How good was the concert performance?  The Year 1/2's knocked it out of the park, with their rehearsal practise for Village People hits paying off. Students looked absolutely incredible, a big thank you to parents for arranging costumes for their children. 

End of year celebration

On Monday 11th December, students had their 1/2 End Of Year Celebration. With true Christmas spirit, students enjoyed eating popcorn whilst watching The Grinch followed by a sausage sizzle and spider drinking extravaganza!  Unfortunately due to the weather, we were unable to make it to Newling Reserve but intend on having a park play at a later date. 

Elf on the shelf

We have had three very naughty elves enter the classroom on Friday 1st December. Jingles, Pudding and Scout have been causing some havoc in the Year 1/2 classrooms.  Why are some elves just so mischievous?  

Story Dogs 

Last Friday, we had our final visit from Story Dogs for the year. Victoria read Pig the Elf, Another Book About Santa and There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Star. Students got to pat Bella and received a candy cane.
