Teaching and Learning

UK Students

Buninyong Primary School has been very lucky to have seven UK students visit this past two weeks. The students are from Chester University and are learning to become teachers.

The students have been in many classrooms during their visit and have been helping out staff and students where they can.

It has been a privilege to host the UK students here at school and we wish them all the very best for the remainder of their Australian trip and future in teaching.

Student Curriculum Materials (formerly ‘Booklists’) 2024

Over the coming weeks, every family will receive details about the curriculum materials that will be provided to your child in 2024. Once again parents will be asked to contribute towards the cost of supplies their children will have access to in the classroom throughout the year.

We have had wonderful support from our parent community in the past to support the ongoing costs of providing curriculum resources for all students across the school and appreciate your support into the future.

ICAS

Last week’s newsletter featured our students who participated in the ICAS competition throughout Term 3.  Unfortunately, there was an error in the photo presentation that was attached, and a couple of students were omitted.  We apologise for this mistake and have attached an updated version in the link below.

Lions’ Club Junior Public Speaking

Last night our four representatives in the Lions Club Junior Public Speaking Contest competed against other local schools in the Grade 3/4 section and 5/6 section.

Congratulations to Hazel, Rebekah, Hayley and Addison who did a fabulous job representing our school and spoke extremely well on their given topics.  We are all very proud of your efforts and commitment to preparing for this contest.

A special mention goes to Rebekah P, who was declared the overall winner of the Grade 3/4 section- great job!

Swimming Program

The swimming program is now almost complete, with the year 3/4 students taking part this week.  As previously communicated, due to the pupil free day this Wednesday, the year 3/4 students will have their make-up lesson on Friday, Dec 15th. A reminder will be sent out via Compass closer to the date.

Many thanks to all parents and carers for your support of the swimming program and to those who came along to assist or to spectate- we appreciate it.
