Drama

In Semester Two Drama, our focus has been on how we can use drama to help people to care for the Earth. We have been exploring some elements of drama, such as situation (the story), role (the characters) and place (the setting). We have used these elements, as we have been preparing and performing group drama works. The emphasis for our Lower Primary classes has been on place. If our drama is set in a beautiful place on the Earth, then people might be inspired to care for it more thoughtfully. Our Upper Primary classes have focussed more on situation by using storylines that explicitly remind us of the need to care for the Earth. Some Junior Secondary classes have even written their own stories. They have also tried to use environmentally friendly ways to create the dramatic place for their presentations.  In Middle Secondary classes, our attention has been on situation as we alter the plots of familiar stories due to environmental factors. All of our year levels have explored some aspects of role. Running through all our lessons has been the overarching purpose of our Drama, that ever-important message that we want to convey to our audience – CARE FOR OUR EARTH!
