Textiles

Year Nine Textiles were really fortunate last week to have textile artist, Susie Vickery come to talk to them about her art practice. Susie is in Denmark designing costumes for Denmark’s Baroque’s production of The Fairy Queen. 

Susie’s textile career has taken her from costume design at London Opera to designing costumes for Beauty and the Beast in Melbourne and to many places including India, Nepal and Tibet running textile projects in communities. She gave a very inspiring talk including her recent storytelling-based textile works. 

Her exhibition ‘Peregrinations of a Citizen Botanist’ toured Western Australia with Art on the Move.
