Secondary Sub School Rooms 19 - 27

Linda Wakeling

I can’t believe its halfway through Term 3 already! It’s been very busy up in the Secondary breezeway. Last night we had our Secondary Information Night which was a great success. Thank you to Mason for telling everyone about SBAT. Thank you to the Advance volunteers for being there and talking to families. Thank you to Helen and the HoL Café team for making the yummy muffins. Thank you to Dan, Amanda and Karen for helping organise a fantastic night. It was great to see so many families there.

Our rooms have been busy this week in SAKG. The garden is looking great with its ribbons blowing above the veggie patch. This is a time for the plants to be growing ready for summer harvests. Last fortnight students cooked pizza while the next few weeks they will be cooking with eggs – omelettes and fritatas.  Many of our students love to visit the garden to look for bugs, check out the worm farm and to give the plants a water.

Advance started back at interschool sport this week. Students were very excited that they are doing football this time. This is a great program which enables our Advance students to learn about different sports as well as make friends with students from other schools who take part. Our students always represent JSA and make us proud.

As it has been quite cold lately remember to send along warm winter jackets and beanies. Next Monday is a professional practice day which means no students on Monday. We look forward to seeing them all on Tuesday. Enjoy a long weekend and stay warm.

Room 21

In Room 21 we have been looking at money and how we can use it to buy things that we want! This term we have been on two excursions to Broadmeadows Central, where we visited the Library and went to the food court and bought ourselves some lunch 😊

We have also been spending a lot of time out in the garden, taking care of the plants and ourselves by making sure we get enough sun even during this cold winter. We did a science experiment to figure out how plants drink water, and ended up making some very pretty and colourful flowers!
