Central Coast Schools Showcase
We are extremely proud of all of our students who performed in the Central Coast Schools Showcase at Laycock St Theatre. We had 13 Special Education students proudly represent Henry Kendall High School as a part of the Signing Choir and Dance Group. They had a great time presenting their renditions of 'Flowers' and 'The Disco Inferno' and were an enormous hit with the audience.
They have all shown incredible dedication with their rehearsals throughout the year and we thank them for their commitment. It is so exciting for us all to be a part of such a special occasion. Congratulations to Emily Overton, Mekah Brown, Erik Andrews, Holly Bissett, Blair Sawer, Emily Andrews, Lily Williamson, Tiarne Bayliss, Kathryn Cameron, and a huge shout out to our year 12 students who have performed with us throughout their years at Henry Kendall: Brady Colwell, Evelyn Smith, Faith Drylie and Lateesha Mead.
Mekah Brown, Emily Overton, Lateesha Mead, Emily Andrews and Faith Drylie were also given the opportunity to perform as part of the NSW Combined Schools Signing Choir at the Primary Proms Concert at Sydney Town Hall. What an incredible experience this is for them!!

Community Access
This term community access has allowed our students to experience many coastal walks, parks and beaches around our neighbourhood. We have also visited Gosford Golf Club and used their virtual Golf range. Blair also got to try out the new standing electric wheel chair they have. We have also spotted whales returning to the Antarctic and even spoke with some bikers.
Ten Pin Bowling
The Inclusive school sports unit ran an interschool competition for students with disabilities on the coast. Henry Kendall High School was represented by Maddox Carta, Jet Black, Patrick Stevens and Mark Darragh in Ten Pin Bowling. Although not the winners on the day our team did the school proud and they should be proud of their efforts.
Special Education SRC News
Jet Black, Jared Rosenkowitz and Emily Andrews are our newly elected SRC representatives for Special Education. Many of our students gave well written and delivered speeches. After a close count our three leaders were declared. Having representatives on the SRC gives the students of Special Education a voice in the school. These students are great role models for all our students.
State Athletics
Lateesha Mead, Marlon Rosales, Charlotte Gott, Nate Wilden and Joel Goncalves-Rose made it through to NSW Schools State Athletic.
Lateesha Mead won a Gold medal in Shot Put and Bronze in Javelin for 16 to 19 year old Athlete with a Disability (AWD).
Joel Goncalves-Rose won a Silver Medal in 12 to 15 year old 100m AWD.
Work Placements
Our senior students are strongly encouraged to participate in a work placement one day per week during the year. This allows to our students to experience a real work place and a real job. When our students transition to post school programs many of the are ready for mainstream employment with little or no support.
We like to thank our local businesses who are willing to allow our students to work alongside them in various fields. A big thanks to Empire Bay Oysters who work with Curtis Chapman, Orana Aged Care who work with Lateesha Mead and Faith Drylie, Golden Tips Hairdressing that work with Charlotte Gott, Worthington BMW and Ducati who work with Jared Rosenkowitz and Cheeky Charlies Café who work with Marlon Rosales.
