Year 6 Hoodies

The excitement level was at its highest peak as the Year six students were finally presented with their Year 6 jumpers. Some students have even been seen wearing their hoodies every day since they received them!

Alice Durran, the winner of the front cover design, takes us through the process in the following written piece:

I couldn’t believe it when I was told that my design was chosen. I had been working on it for a while, deciding on what I would do and doing it. It represents hard work and not giving up, doing what it takes for the solution. The whale and the bird represent adventuring to new heights, facing your fears. I would lie on the floor and draw, working at it until it was finished. I wasn’t expecting to have it on our year six jumpers. I was amazed when I saw it was in the top five designs and was proud to get there. My energy levels were through the roof when one of our teachers came up and told me. After months of waiting, I could finally see it printed on a jumper.

Digital Safety

By Mikaela, Nimmy and Abby, Year 6 students

A couple of weeks ago we had a Cyber Safety Incursion. It taught us about how we should be safe with our accounts online and also about how we should be messaging. We also learnt who we should tell if we ever get in trouble online which is the… E-Safety

Commissioner or the Kids Helpline (contact via call or message). We learnt how to write a good password and how easy it is for someone to hack your account and find out who you are! They showed us examples of social media profiles and explained what we can and should not post online. It was a really helpful incursion!
