A Night Under the Stars

School Concert News

On Monday 4th September, our CSPS community was treated to an evening of song and dance at Monash University’s Robert Blackwood Hall, showcasing some of the wonderful musical talents of our students.

The evening included performances from each year level, as well as our CSPS Drum Corps, school choir and orchestra (not to forget our impressive teacher dancers!).

For some students, this was their very first experience of a CSPS school concert while for our Year 6s it was an exciting way to showcase the performance skills they have developed throughout their primary school years. We are extremely proud of all our students for their efforts in preparing for the event over the last few months. Here is what some of our students had to say about the night:

“I love love LOVED being on stage and being in choir” Zara, Prep D

***

“I liked being dressed up as Tinkerbell and doing the dances. I loved watching my big brother on stage too” Chloe, Prep D

***

“My favourite part was singing into the microphone on my own and I loved the teachers dance too” Amy, 2C

***

“I knew I had practised enough but it was still scary looking into the huge crowd from backstage. After my performance I had that proud feeling you get when you finish something you've been practising for a long time” Leo, 4C

***

“The concert was so much fun. It was really exciting and exhilarating to go and perform in such a unique, fancy venue and I liked that everyone was having such a great time” Lara, 5C and Sera, 5A

The concert was filmed by a professional videographer and more details will be posted on Compass on how to order your copy!

I would like to thank all CSPS staff who supported our students on the night and assisted with preparations in the months leading up to the event. I would also like to extend my gratitude to parents and carers for organising costumes and travel arrangements etc. This collective effort certainly ensured that our students had a night to remember!
