Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

Lindfield Art Show and Fair - A celebration of Community

More than just an event, the Art Show and Spring Fair is a celebration of our vibrant school community. It's a chance for students, parents, teachers, and the community to come together, fostering connections and creating lasting memories. As a new principal to Holy Family, it is evident that the spirit of togetherness is what makes our school truly exceptional.

Sincere thanks to the many families, friends, parishioners and staff who have volunteered to ensure that we have a weekend filled with community spirit and loads of fun. Without your generous support this would not have been possible. Please know that you are deeply appreciated.

Father's Day

Next Sunday is Father’s Day. Father’s Day is celebrated in seventy-two countries around the world, with Australia, New Zealand and some Pacific Islands dedicating the first Sunday of each September to these very special men in our lives. Father’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the contributions the fathers and grandfathers have made to our school family.

In the modern era with seemingly never-ending pressures, St Joseph offers the fathers of our community a strong and positive role model. A hard working, quiet achiever, St Joseph was a stable and sensible voice in the life of Jesus. St Joseph was a source of great wisdom for the maturing Jesus. Fathers and Grandfathers of Holy Family, we salute your paternal work and offer great thanks to you. Please remember, when the going gets tough, consider asking St Joseph for guidance and wisdom. St Joseph is the Patron Saint of Workers.

Yesterday we celebrated a beautiful Father’s Day prayer reflection with our dads and enjoyed a delicious barbeque breakfast, paper plane throwing competition and a special handball competition. A great morning was enjoyed by all. Sincere thanks to our dedicated P&F Committee and all of the wonderful parent helpers for cooking and serving the delicious breakfast. A special thanks to Mr Giang, Mr Batac and Mr Solomon for their wonderful reflections about the privileges of being a father and to all of the readers and helpers.

Father’s Day gives us an opportunity to recall and affirm the particular gifts that fathers bring to families. This includes our personal fathers, grandfathers, uncles and important father figures in our lives. Whether it is their sense of humour, ability to see the positive side of difficult situations, patience even when they are tired, or their wise words of encouragement and love, this Sunday we hope that all dads, grand dads, father figures and uncles enjoy a wonderful day.

God, bless all fathers in the world.

Guide them to be good role models and loving to all their children.

Help them to be a father like You are,

Give them the grace and peace to handle situations in a loving way.

Amen.

Please wear your dancing shoes!

Check-in

Holy Family staff always welcome feedback and ideas from the parent community. If you have any feedback or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher or myself through the school office (7256 2141), school email address info@holyfamily.nsw.edu.au or pauline.dinale@dbb.catholic.edu.au

As we are already well into the second half of the year, there are some parents both Sam Edwards and I still haven't had the opportunity to meet. Therefore, we would like to give all families a friendly "Check-In" phone call in the coming weeks. This might be a good opportunity to give us some feedback on "What's Working Well at Holy Family" and "Even Better If......"
