Student Wellbeing

As we approach the end of winter and enter SPRINGTER – the changeover between winter and spring

We see longer days with more sunlight, we move towards the last part of Term 3 we share information that is important to us all….

Bullying and Harassment Survey – NO WAY

On the National day against Bullying and Harassment on Friday 18 August, the majority of our student community completed the Bullying and Harassment survey developed by our Student Representative Council.

We look forward to sharing the findings of the survey with our school community both at the end of term assembly and then in our Marian News.

We thank those students who were honest in their views of what is happening in our school grounds but also on social media.

It is sad to report that some students have indicated that they have been bullied or have seen other members of our community bullied. We will work with our student leaders to identify ways that we can support these members of our community to address their concerns.

Father’s Day Breakfast

We thank all students and their families that have responded to our invitation for our Father’s Day breakfast on Friday 1 September.

This gives our students an opportunity to acknowledge  the significant males in their lives.

We have had over 150 responses to our invitation and we look forward to sharing photos from our celebration on Friday morning.

Child Protection Week – Monday 4th to Friday 9th August

Next week is the National Week in relation to Child Protection. We all share a responsibility to keep all of the students in our care safe and free from harm.

All staff members have a clear directive to ensure that all students are safe at school, when on excursions or camps and even when they are not in our care during the weekends and school holidays.

We look forward in the next edition of the Marian to share some of the activities and messages that we conveyed to our community over the week about keeping everyone safe.

Brigidine Celebration Day

Our annual Brigidine Celebration Day will be held on Tuesday 5 September. We formally invite our parents and guardians to our Opening Mass starting at 9.00 am. If you are interested in attending please inform us by calling the College on 9363-1711.

Finally our normal Uniform Reminders…

As we near the end of Term 3 a reminder to all students and families that Term 4 means that we return to our summer uniform – whether that is our summer dress or school pants and shirt.

We ask all students and families to check early in relation to their uniform as many students have grown over the course of the winter period and may need new items before we return for Term 4.

For Term 3 a reminder about the following:

  • School ties are compulsory items for the winter period
  • School tracksuit pants should not be worn in place of teh School Uniform pants
  • Hoodies etc are not part of our uniform

We look forward to informing our parents and students about some new uniform items that we are investigating as possible uniform changes for 2024 and beyond.

We will share photos of these items in the next edition of the Marian.

In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy the spring sun and the new intensity that comes with it….
