Performing Arts

'Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.' - Ralph Marston.

Level 3/4 students have been enjoying learning about Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and creating performances in small groups to retell the hidden messages and lessons. They have explored the following Aboriginal Dreamtime stories so far:

  • How The Birds Got Their Colours
  • Tiddalick The Frog
  • Dunbi The Owl
  • Biladurang The Platypus

Outside of this learning, Level 3/4 students have been busy learning movements and transitions to accompany their fabulous singing of their class and level Christmas carols in preparation for Rolling Hills Primary School's Christmas Extravaganza event which will be held on Tuesday 28th November from 3:40pm, in conjunction with the annual Arts Show.

Here is a reminder of some of the jolly songs to be sung by our Level 3/4 students:

  • 3/4A - 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' by Wizzard
  • 3/4J - 'Last Christmas' by Wham!
  • 3/4P - 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' by Band Aid
  • 3/4W - 'Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer' by Gene Autry and the Pinafores
  • Whole Level - 'Deck The Halls' by Nat King Cole

Level 5/6 students have been learning about Flash Mob performances, researching already created Flash Mob performances and working in small groups to create their own Flash Mob performances.
