Principal's Message

MAKING LIVING WELL LEARNING WELL VISIBLE

Term 4 has begun with a focus on Making Living Well Learning Well Visible.

In classrooms, I have observed students and teachers collaborating to develop success criteria for learning intentions; I have seen students collaborating on finding solutions to complex problems. It is evident that students are, for the most part, calm in their learning spaces and entering into the learning experiences.

Teachers are Making Living Well Learning Well through the Third Teacher - visible learning intentions, success criteria, bump it up walls and samples of success on the walls in their classrooms and on their learning and teaching slides. This is important to student learning on their journey to become independent learners.

These opportunities are critical for student learning success. Teachers will be moving through classrooms this term regularly observing the visible Living Well Learning Well.

WORLD TEACHERS DAY

This Friday we celebrate World Teachers’ Day. This celebration focuses on the tireless commitment and dedication to a hope-filled future for all of our young people. Our staff at St Mary’s College are teachers for an unknown future of endless possibilities, honing our students’ skills on becoming lifelong learners. They are data-literate, literacy and numeracy teachers who contextualise and focus outcomes learning to meet the students where they are at and challenge them to successful learning growth.

We celebrate the teachers past and present of our community and give thanks to our founders, The Sisters of Mercy for their values, fearless determination and inspiration.

God Bless
