Regional Netball Carnival

Last Thursday was the first ever Eastern Metropolitan Regional Boys Netball Invitational. This was a new event EMR was piloting this year to promote the exposure of boys to the sport of netball. Park Ridge entered the maximum 3 teams in the A, B and C division. The boys enjoyed a great day with a real carnival atmosphere featuring plenty of netball matches, food trucks and lunch time competitions. Our A team finished runners up whilst the B and C team both won 3 and lost 3. It was great to see the boys out there enjoying a sport that would normally not be a first choice sport for them. Thank you to Stef, Anne and Victorian Netballer and PRPS alumni Dee Dee Deng for coaching the teams.

Regional Senior Hoop Time

Last Friday was the Senior Regional Future Stars competition. Park Ridge, like the junior day earlier in the term, had 2 teams qualify for the day after finishing 1st and 2nd at our district day in term 3. Both the Park Ridge Panthers and the Park Ridge Pelicans won enough games to make the semi finals, however unfortunately lost these games. The teams should be very proud to make it this far, and for being one of just 2 schools to have 2 teams qualify for Regionals – a testament to the depth of talent among our students. I’d like to thank Chris for coaching and Stef, Bela, Lyndell and Michael for sharing scoring duties.
