Upgrades to Errol Street Campus
Tom, Acting Assistant Principal
Works are continuing at our Errol Street Campus to upgrade our facilities and improve the experience of our Years 3-6 students and staff.
Following is a list of completed activities:
- Our ‘Values Steps’ outside the gym have been given a clean and a fresh coat of paint to now more proudly and clearly display our school values: Responsible, Inclusive, Sagacious and Ethical. (There’s also new posters in all our learning spaces reminding us all to rise to our values.)
- The West Wing of the Old Building (formerly the Prep Wing) is currently empty of classes, so we are using this opportunity to conduct internal repairs, re-paint the classrooms and install new blinds. These works will be completed in time for the beginning of the 2024 school year.
- Our much-loved (and much-used) Library has also been entirely re-painted during the Term 3 holidays, bringing new light and life to this central space.
- Four new Acknowledgement of Country signs have been placed at key entrances to the campus: at the main office; at Biz-E-Kidz; at the gym and on the Flex building. These signs match those used at the Molesworth Street Campus, designed and produced by Sue Hodges Productions in consultation with the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land.
- Our yard spaces have also seen upgrades, with the Southside playground equipment being adjusted to better suit our Years 3-6 students and the basketball backboards being replaced on the Northside.
- In preparation for 2024, we will also soon be taking delivery of a year-level’s worth of new student desks - improving the everyday classroom experience of our students.
Particular thanks to Frank Barrasso (Maintenance) for his work on these upgrades and to the Buildings andGrounds Subcommittee for their guidance.
