The Veronica Cup hosted by Errol street campus

This was the first year of the Veronica cup and we had an excellent turn out of spectators eagerly looking on. 

Veronica is a Year 5 student who is into hobby horsing - a sport that does not include real animals. Veronica’s Cup is animal cruelty free and laughter full. 

Veronica has been hosting her own races in the past few weeks and last Thursday was the main event. As pictured, we had teachers run alongside students for a chance of glory. 

Despite their best efforts, the teachers fell short. Brad’s horse gave way and unfortunately collapsed coming around the first bend, taking down some others around him and impacting the race. Many Year 5 students ran a great race, but ultimately it was Veronica who prevailed. She took the lead in the last straight and strode it home by five lengths. 

What a great event, we all had so much fun putting on a show.
