REMEMBRANCE DAY

Remembrance Day marks the anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). Each year on the 11th of November, Australians observe one minute’s silence at 11 am, in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts in appreciation of their sacrifice. Due to Remembrance day falling on Saturday, we encourage each of our school families to reflect on their courage and appreciate their selfless dedication to our country.

NEW FACES: ADMINISTRATION OFFICER (Reception)

Welcome to Julie-Ann who you find in the front office!

1) What is your new role at BHCS and what are you excited about for the future?

My new role at BHCS is Administration Officer (Reception). What I'm most excited about for the future is, in the short term, I'm looking forward to getting settled into my new role at BHCS so I can be an effective member of the team, as well as getting to know this friendly and supportive community better. Long term I'm excited for next year when my son will finish Year 12 and my daughter will finish her Uni degree, and to see them continue to grow further in all aspects of their lives.

2) What did you do previously?

Previously while raising a family I have been providing Admin support in our family business. In recent times I was also working in a canteen at a local Primary School in my area as well as working in a cafe and farm gate shop at a local Apple Orchard on the weekends.

 3) What do you like to do for fun?

I'm quite a creative person and one thing I enjoy doing for fun is putting together flower arrangements, and once a month I attend a floral workshop to learn new skills.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUS USERS

Families who make use of the School bus are reminded of the following:

  • Students must embark and disembark at their allocated stop and should not get off at a different stop without having made prior arrangements.
  • Travel on an alternative bus for social engagements is not permissible.
  • Casual bus use (for school friends to travel with the bus user) is not available.

Should families experience an emergency they are encouraged to email buses@bhcs.vic.edu.au or contact student services.  In cases of emergency, where room is available, the School will work with families to find the most suitable arrangement.

As the weather begins to warm up (hopefully), we ask that families ensure to please pack one or two full drink bottles to school each day.

Students are permitted to take a water bottle in to their classes with them.

Hats are to be worn by students during recess and lunch times. SPF 30+ plus broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen should be applied daily before going outdoors.
