Middle SS News

Sarah Hill

Welcome to Week 2 of Term 4! I hope everyone has had a smooth transition back and is settling into the new term. As we dive into another busy week, here are some key updates and dates to keep in mind.

Key Dates & Events

- Brainstorm Productions – 16th October: Our resilience and positive behaviour performance is coming up. This aligns perfectly with our PBS values, so please encourage students to engage fully and reflect on the key messages.

- Inflatable World – 19th October: This fun-filled day is fast approaching! Please follow up on any outstanding permission slips and ensure you’ve considered the needs of individual students for the day.

- SSG Meetings – Mid Term: These will be happening mid-term. Please ensure you’re preparing by gathering relevant data, reviewing goals, and setting up times with parents. These meetings are crucial for providing ongoing support to our students and reviewing their progress.

- Middle School Awards – Week 9: It's time to start thinking about areas where students have shown significant growth. Whether in curriculum achievements or social-emotional skills, let's plan to celebrate their successes at our upcoming ceremony. Please see my recent email for more information.

- Year 6 Graduation – 12th December: Thank you to everyone who has volunteered so far. We’ll share more information on roles and responsibilities shortly. Let’s ensure this is a night to remember for our students and their families.

- Transition to 2025 Classrooms – Week 11: As we approach transition week, consider how best to support students during this time. Help them feel confident and prepared as they meet their 2025 classmates and teachers.

Focus for Term 4

This term, our focus remains on consolidating learning and preparing students for transitions. Let’s continue emphasising literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing while guiding students towards achieving their goals as they prepare for 2025.

Positive School Culture

Please continue to model and reinforce our PBS values in every interaction. Let’s work together to foster a positive school culture, with PBS tickets being a great way to recognise and celebrate student efforts and behaviour.

Safety Reminder

Please remember to ensure that all classroom doors remain locked at all times. This is an important part of maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Team Collaboration & Communication

Open communication is key to our success this term. Use our team meetings and informal check-ins to keep everyone on the same page, and reach out if you need assistance or support.

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. Let’s continue making Term 4 an exciting and rewarding experience for our students!

Warm regards,

Sarah
