Year 12 students have started their final examinations well, with a very positive English exam on Tuesday and then Visual Communication Design, Literature, Biology, and General Mathematics all this week. Well done to them for the way in which they have started and for their application in the lead-up period. Good luck going forward.
For those who might have missed it last week, I am very pleased to share the link below again to a new WhatsApp group organised by a number of College parents. The ‘Change the Norm’ group is designed to be a support space for parents who would like to learn more about the damaging effects of social media on younger children and teens, and who are interested in delaying smartphones and/or social media for their children. In the face of “Everyone else’s parents let them!” the group will provide a forum to share strategies for managing social media access for children. I am grateful for the initiative and recommend it to you wholeheartedly.
Parents can join ‘Change the Norm’ by clicking here.
Last Friday, we enjoyed a wonderful iteration of the annual Senior School Speech Day. Seeing and hearing from our musicians, outgoing School Captains, and Chair of the College Board, Rosie Merrin, was a pleasure. Thank you to all staff and students involved in preparing for the afternoon and to all parents and supporters of the College who attended. For those interested but unable to be there, the script for my address is available below.
This is a reminder that the deadline for expressions of interest for the China Language and Cultural Tour is next Friday, 8 November. Further information about the program is available here, and expressions of interest can be registered here.
