Multiplying Achievements:

Success Stories from Math Contests.

We again had a record number of students participate in the Australian Mathematics Competition, with 1 in 4 Year 7 and 8 students taking part.

Collectively, the school achieved 57 credits, 38 distinctions, and 7 high distinctions.

Nick Power (8C) won the prize for the best result in the school, placing him in the top 0.1% of participants.

The other high distinctions went to Alaan Qamar (7G), Kha Ho (7L), Gideon Tran (7L), Zarni Win (7A), Emily Ding (8C), Joon Park (8C) and Dante Canales (10F). Bowen Yang (9G) also earned a distinction in the Intermediate Math Olympiad, an elite, four-hour competition for the most talented students.

For the third consecutive year, Viewbank College reached the state final of the Math Talent Quest.

Ryan Fraser, Shaun George, Ben Long, Joon Park, and Aito Stukas from 8C received a high distinction for their project, which analysed six international destinations to determine the best value for money for a family holiday.

Their analysis considered travel, activities, food, and accommodation costs.

Congratulations to all the students involved you did the college proud!!
