Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Dear Families,

Welcome to Week 3 of Term 4!

What a busy two weeks it has been at St Peter's! So many fantastic opportunities for our students to experience:  3 /4 camp; auditions for Australian girls choir; parish mass; Yr 6 students meeting staff from their high school; photo shoot for our website update; Italian Day, with a special performance by Luigi Zucchini and our first orientation session to welcome Foundation 2025 students. There is never a dull moment at school!!

I hope you are hearing about some of these wonderful moments.

World Teacher's Day

On Friday, 25 October, we pause to celebrate all the fantastic teachers at St Peter's. We are blessed to have committed teachers who always have the best interests of each child at the heart of every decision they make. I know you join me in saying a BIG 'Thank you' to our teachers for all they do for the St Peter's community.

God of Love, thank you for every teacher who notices a child’s special gift. Thank you for teachers who are listeners and gentle guides. Thank you for teachers who expect much and love enough to demand more. Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers.

God of Mercy, sustain teachers who give everything they have. Strengthen teachers who assume the blame for so many problems beyond their control. Help exhausted teachers rest.

God of Strength, encourage teachers to care and inspire them to nourish.

We pray these things in the name of our great teacher, Jesus Christ.

Amen

Italian Day

The weather did not stop us from having lots of fun on Italian Day!

P&F News

Special Person's afternoon tea

Thank you to our wonderful P&F, who organised an opportunity for our community to connect over lovely food and a drink! It was great to see so many people there.

Colour Fun Run

Our amazing P&F are organising a Colour Fun Run to be held on Friday 15 November.

Please register your child! We only have 20 students raising money! Well done to these students who so far have raised over $2000.

We would love to be able to update part of our playground, but we need your help to do so!

Quotes received so far indicate we need at least $60,000. Imagine if all our students raised $120 each- we would be a third of the way there! There are prizes available, depending on the amount of money raised by individuals.

The more money we raise during the Fun run, the sooner we can upgrade our outdoor space!

Think U Know - Parent Information Session

Thank you to the families who attended our 'Think U Know' parent information session on Wednesday, 23 October, facilitated by the Australian Federal Police. The session explored what young people see, say, and do online, the challenges they encounter, and how we can support them through these challenges.

For more information about this, we encourage you to have a look at  https://www.thinkuknow.org.au/resources-tab/parents-and-carers

I encourage you to read the 'Celebrating our Learning' page for first-hand recounts from 3 /4 camp and to read biographies written by 5/6.

Please read the information in this newsletter carefully- there is a lot we are trying to communicate!

I hope that everyone has a great week.
