Year 3

In Term 1 and Term 2, Year 3 experienced a range of learning!
In Mathematics Year 3 focused on learning multiplication and practicing their times tables. They worked in pairs practicing their skip counting goals and challenged each other.
In History, Year 3 learnt about how and why there has been change and continuity in communities and daily life. They identified traces of the past in the present and can explain their significance. The School Librarian Mrs Auckett led the students on an expedition underneath the Homestead, a heritage-listed site on the school grounds.
In writing, students wrote narratives based on the book Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. Students used verbs, adverbs and adjectives to make their narratives sound interesting. They frequently listened to their partners stories and gave feedback to their peers on how they can improve their writing. They did a great job!
In Visual Arts, students created a clay sculpture of an Australian animal. They developed their fine motor skills, improved their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students focussed on using their hands and minds for sculpting.
