On Tuesday, St Mary’s participated in an exciting Cricket Gala Day against St Andrews. We proudly sent three teams: Junior Boys, Senior Boys, and Girls, and all teams competed exceptionally well!
Our students will be back on the field in September for the next round of competition. We can't wait to see even more impressive performances from our teams!
A special highlight of the day was the opportunity to meet the QLD Masters Bulls — Andy Bichel, Adam Gale, and Gavin Fitness, all of whom are former Australian cricketers. Andy and Adam represented Australia at the 2003 World Cup, and Andy and Gavin were part of the QLD Sheffield Shield championship teams in 1994 and 1995. Andy Bichel is currently the Assistant Coach for the Brisbane Heat BBL team, inspiring the next generation of cricketers!
Well done to all our students for their great sportsmanship and enthusiasm!
Congratulations to Year 12 students Isabella and Zoe for proudly representing the Peninsula U19 Netball Team at the Queensland State School Netball Championships!
Your hard work, dedication, and passion for the game have taken you to the state's highest level of school netball — and we couldn’t be prouder.
Well done, Isabella and Zoe, on this incredible achievement. You've represented Peninsula and your school with skill and sportsmanship!
Congratulations to Blake (Year 8), Adrian (Year 12), and Charlie (Year 11), who spent four action-packed days in Townsville representing Peninsula at the School Sport Hockey State Championships!
In the 13–15 years division, the under-15 boys were on fire. They dominated their pool games and semi-final to reach the Grand Final undefeated. While they just missed out on the title, their performance was nothing short of exceptional.
In the 16–19 years division, the under-19 boys secured an impressive top-four finish — Peninsula’s best result in this age group since 2008! Their hard work, teamwork, and determination truly paid off.
Well done to Blake, Adrian, and Charlie for showing such skill, resilience, and sportsmanship!
