YEAR 10
Planning Your Journey

Head of Year 10 lschuring@cns.catholic.edu.au
Last week, Ms Chapman presented information to the Year 10 Cohort about Science in the Semester. In Terms 3 and 4, students can choose a Senior Science Preparatory or applied science courses. A letter with more information was emailed out last week.
We encourage students to speak with their current science teacher or Head of Year (Mrs Schuring) if they have any questions about which option will be most suitable for them.
Students will receive an email this week with a Google Doc to choose their subject. We ask that students do this as soon as they receive the email.
The Aviation Careers Showcase will be held on Tuesday, 17 June, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and is presented by Leidos. Leidos is an aviation company based in Cairns that conducts border surveillance and search and rescue operations across Australia. With a wide range of potential aviation pathways, this is an excellent opportunity for students interested in careers such as Pilot, Mission Aircrew, and Engineering.

Please note that we are currently experiencing issues with three of our four registers in the Tuckshop. Until further notice, please be aware that cash is the preferred payment option.
Due to our Open Evening next Thursday, 29 May, the Library will close at 3:30 pm instead of 4:00 pm to allow staff to set up for the evening.

Hear an update from Principal Kerry Manders, connect with your child’s PG Mentor and subject teachers, sample the home-cooked snacks in the Green Leaf Café and explore the spaces where learning comes to life!
You’ll also have the opportunity to provide feedback or ask questions directly to the College Leadership Team. For catering purposes, please be sure to register!

Feedback Surveys will be conducted during Weeks 6-8 of Term 2, May 26 – June 13, to enable the analysis of results to be incorporated into the school's annual planning processes.
All parents and staff will be invited by email from CES to complete the survey, and all students in Years 5, 6, 8, and 11. We estimate that the survey will take up to 20 minutes to complete. All surveys are anonymised in the Survey Manager system, with email reminders sent weekly to non-respondents. Please don't share your survey link - families, staff, and students must access it in their email.

Enjoy your weekend; we look forward to welcoming students back to the College on Monday!
