Hope

At Good News, hope enables us to look forward with expectation and confidence, placing our trust and faith in God’s provision of the things we need to handle, all kinds of situations and events that occur. Hope is open-ended, open to all possibilities and not limited by what we might wish for. Hope allows God to define our lives. During this Reconciliation Week we have seen students learn and put into action the hope we have as a nation to include all as equals while recognising our individual gifts and talents. I especially thank our 1B students for sharing their heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country at this week’s assembly.

Primary School Division Cross Country

On the 22 May, Good News Lutheran College had four students compete in the Division Cross Country at Werribee Racecourse. Aria Leonor (5B), Marvin Patel (6A), Arjun Mamidi (4D) & Maya Borowik (3B) competed, and while they did not progress to the next stage, it was a massive effort to get to the Division stage, so congratulations to the four of you!

Honouring Reconciliation Week

Throughout Reconciliation Week, our primary years students have been engaging in a range of lunchtime activities designed to honour and reflect on the importance of the week. From art to storytelling, these moments offered students the chance to express their thoughts and hopes creatively.

In addition, all classes from Prep to Year 7 took part in buddy sessions focused on the theme: Bridging Now to Next. Students were asked to think about and document where we are now, and what our next steps can be in our Reconciliation journey. These rich, respectful conversations help strengthen cross-campus connections, deepening understanding and building unity as we walk together toward a future of respect, truth, and reconciliation. Each student’s reflective leaf will contribute to a collaborative display, symbolising our shared journey and ongoing commitment to reconciliation.
