Hope: Trusting in God’s Promises and the Future He Has for Us

At Good News Lutheran College, we are a community grounded in faith, where we believe in the power of God’s promises and the hope that He offers for our future. This term, we celebrated a significant milestone in the life of our College—the official opening of the Hope building at our Mambourin Campus.

The name Hope was not chosen lightly. It is an acknowledgement of Martin Luther Church and the Altona North Congregation which formed the naming of the Hope building. It also reflects our confidence in God's ongoing work in the lives of our students, staff, and families. As we opened the doors to this new space, we were reminded that hope is more than just wishful thinking—it is an active trust in God’s plans for good. It is a commitment to building a future that is filled with learning, growth, and the presence of Christ.

The celebration was a joyful occasion, attended by students, staff, community members, and special guests. With a heartfelt song from our choir, thoughtful reflections, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, we gave thanks for the opportunities this space will provide. We pray that all who walk through the doors of the Hope building will be inspired to live with purpose, joy, and a steadfast trust in God.

As we look to the future, let Hope continue to be more than a building name—let it inspire us to look to the hope that Jesus inspires when he challenges us to come follow me (Mark 1:16-18). In Christ, we have a hope that is sure, a future that is bright, and a foundation that will never fail if we follow him.
