K-2 Responsible Pet Ownership Education Progam
Term 2 Week 8
Last Friday, K-2 had the pleasure of attending a ‘Responsible Pet Ownership Education Program’ session where they learned from presenters how to read dog body language, when to leave dogs alone, and what to do if approached by an angry dog. Children also got to meet Boots the dog, who helped show them how to safely approach and greet a dog. These are important skills to learn as children under 10 are at the greatest risk of a dog attack injury, 70% of which will occur in the home. We are grateful for opportunities like this to learn how to interact safely in the community God has given us.
