Made for a Trade / Girls Can Too

Term 2 Week 8

Recently, we attended the graduation of the Made for a Trade and Girls Can Too programs , at Gallery 43 in TAFE NSW Wagga Campus.

Wagga Wagga Christian College had 4 participants - two year ten students in each of the  programs:

Made for a Trade

Riley and Clarissa

Girls Can Too

Millie and Keiraleigh

These amazing programs have been aimed at helping students find successful pathways post-school - through engaging practical hands-on experiences, TAFE NSW Training Days, Industry Visits, and placements.

Students get to try a range of trades and gain valuable insight and expertise into what a career in trades looks like, and how to kickstart their career and gain an apprenticeship or traineeship.

This is the third year WWCC have had students involved and many past students are now working in trades careers or undertaking apprenticeships.

Mr Forbes-Taber (teacher) went along and joined parents to celebrate the achievements of the students.

The programs are established by RIEP and RIEP coordinator Stacey Suidgeest who had nothing but praise and admiration for all students who had completed the course, which consisted of 1 day per week at TAFE or in industry over Terms 1 and 2.

All students represented the College admirably and we look forward to further student engagement in the programs in the second semester offerings.
