đ¤đâ¤ď¸ National Reconciliation Week | 27 May â 3 June
Â
This week, we proudly recognise National Reconciliation Week at Wimba Primary School. The 2024 theme, âBridging Now to Nextâ, encourages all Australians to reflect on how we can collectively build a more united and respectful nationâguided by the lessons of the past and the promise of the future.
Â
At Wimba, our commitment to reconciliation drives our ambition to contribute meaningfully to the success of First Nations children and young people. It shapes the work we do and how we partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Â
At Wimba, our focus deepens around:
Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and this week invites every member of our school community to reflect on their role in fostering understanding, respect, and connectionâthis week and beyond.

đ Wimba Represents at the First Wyndham EAL/D Community of Practice
Â
We are proud to share that Wimba Primary School was recently invited to host and present at the inaugural Wyndham EAL/D Community of Practiceâa network of schools committed to improving outcomes for students from diverse language backgrounds.
Â
Our team shared how we empower multilingual learners through evidence-based practice, grounded in our schoolâs values of equity, inclusion, and high expectations. It was a privilege to highlight our tiered support model, structured literacy approach, and our commitment to responsive teaching strategies that honour language and culture.
A very special shoutout to Green House Spirit Leader, Maanika Kaur, who delivered a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country and shared Wimbaâs journey from a student perspective. Her calm, confident public speaking and leadership were outstandingâwhat a proud moment for our whole community!
Â
We are excited to continue building partnerships across Wyndham to support every learner to thrive.
