Semester 1 in IEF 1 Senior class
It has been a busy start to the year, and this is just a snippet of what the senior students learned and experienced so far this year.
Food Technology Life Skills
This semester, students participated in practical lessons where they prepared a recipe using ingredients such as free-range eggs and homemade ricotta. The ricotta was then used to create a decadent baked cheesecake. Through this experience, students discovered that ingredients can be sourced from places beyond the supermarket, encouraging a broader understanding of food origins and sustainability.
Community Access
In addition to their practical lessons at school, the IEF 1 Senior class visited the Pizza Hut store in Parramatta for a behind-the-scenes look at how pizzas are made using an impingement oven—similar to a large air fryer. Students observed the entire process, from receiving an order to packing the finished pizza for the customer. The highlight of the visit, of course, was enjoying pizza for lunch!
Students also took part in a creative workshop hosted by the Apple Store at Castle Hill Towers. There, they learned how to use iPads to create visual content from selected photos, exploring different tools to creatively manipulate their self-portraits.

This year Ronell is completing a TAFE Certificate III Course in Visual Arts and Contemporary Craft as part of his Year 12 pattern of study.
