Student Activities & Achievements

Media Team
Earlier this month, the Media Team visited La La La, a licensed venue in Wollongong, to coordinate with Department of Education representatives on the filming of the New Bloods Band Competition. Students will produce a video of the event for the Department, as well as music videos for individual performers who opt to purchase them. Funds raised will be reinvested in Media Team projects. Additionally, students will create a promotional video for upcoming events in December.
On 12 May, the Media Team attended the Short and Sweet Global Film Festival Sydney Final, where two of their films, When Sticks Become Snakes and Bubblegum and Bunyips, were among the top ten finalists. Outstandingly, both films placed first and second in both the Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice Awards, securing the team's eligibility for the World Finals in Hollywood.
Earlier in the year, actor, writer, and presenter Raechel Bull reached out to the Media Team after viewing their 2023 film Lovebites. Raechel, the creator of the upcoming TV series 6 Degrees of Us, was eager to involve students in her project, which will be released on various streaming platforms later this year. Currently, Year 12 student Kya M. is designing the series’ promotional material—an outstanding achievement. Well done, Kya!
Kellyville High School shines bright at Hills Relay for Life!
Kellyville High School has once again proudly completed the 24-hour Hills Relay for Life — and what an incredible effort it was!
This year marks our 24th Relay as part of the Hills community. Relay for Life is a powerful and moving event that raises essential funds for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, and support services. It offers a moment to reflect, honour and celebrate local cancer survivors, those currently facing cancer, their carers, and the lives of loved ones lost.
Each year, thousands of Australians walk, run and rally together to move one step closer to a cancer-free future and this year, Kellyville High School was out in force. An amazing team of 10 dedicated staff and 49 incredible students from Years 10–12 along with some fantastic ex-students, completed over 2,000 laps, powering through fog, warm sunshine, and even cold rain together to raise over $12,000 in support of this vital cause!
A huge thank you to Kennards Hire Kellyville for helping keep us warm overnight — and a special shoutout to the Wellington family for organising the support.
Box Car Champions - Two years in a row! 🏆
Throughout the event, the Kellyville High School team was recognised for their positive attitude, community spirit, and outstanding fundraising efforts.
We are beyond proud of every single participant.
Well done, Kellyville — you’ve made a real difference. Proud to be part of such an incredible and supportive community!
Warmth in Action: Hills schools unite for the Blankets and Beanies Appeal
As the winter chill sets in, staying warm becomes a challenge—especially for those experiencing homelessness. That’s why student leaders from 23 schools in the Hills, including Kellyville High School, have united for the 9th Blanket and Beanie Appeal (BABA), working together to provide comfort and warmth to those in need.
Running from 5th to 30th May 2025, this vital initiative encourages students to donate blankets, beanies, scarves, jumpers, men’s pants, and women’s sanitary items at designated donation boxes across participating schools.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, countless essential items are being collected, ensuring that those facing hardship have the warmth and support they need to get through the coldest months. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference in someone's life.
