Senior Years - Term 3 - Weeks 3 & 4
Dear Parents and Carers,
We’re well into Term 3, and students have been engaged in some fantastic learning across key areas:
English
We’re reading Tom Appleby: Convict Boy by Jackie French. Students are exploring life in early Australia while developing their comprehension and writing skills through historical fiction.
Maths
Our focus has been on angles. Students are identifying, measuring, and classifying different types of angles, and applying this knowledge to real-life problems.
Inquiry
This term’s topic is Cyber Safety. We’re learning how to stay safe and respectful online, protect personal information, and be responsible digital citizens.
Religion
In Religion, we’re exploring Sacred Stories and how these stories shape the beliefs and values of different faiths. Students are reflecting on their meaning and relevance today.
At home you could support student learning by:
- Listening to your child read
- Investigate our current mentor text (Tom Appleby, Convict by by Jackie French)
- Investigate common Prefixes and Suffixes such as ‘Spec', 'Inter', 'Vent' & 'Trans'.
Explore measuring Angles and the different type of Angles (Acute, Obtuse, Right Angle)
