Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Improvement Agenda
The staff enjoyed two Staff Development Days since the last newsletter. On the final day of Term 2 we were privileged to have the Aboriginal Education Team from Bathurst Office lead us in a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander spirituality. They arranged for Auntie Louise Campbell, chair of the NSW AICC (Aboriginal and Islander Catholic Council) to speak to us and share her unique understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, both broadly and in our local communities. It was a wonderful day.
The first day of Term 3 saw the teachers engage in further learning on the implementation of the New English Syllabus, focusing on how to move student learning from surface level to a deeper level which would then allow them to transfer this knowledge to other areas of the curriculum.
Work on the Buildings and School Site
The holiday period was quite busy on the school site as some very important maintenance work was carried out. Unfortunately, due to a shortage of some of the required materials, the work was unable to be completed, resulting in the scaffolding still being onsite. Hopefully the work will be completed soon.
As well as building maintenance, the trees on site which had been inspected and assessed for health, had some vital pruning and deadwood removal work completed.
New School Counsellor and Administration Officer
This Term we have a new school counsellor joining us at Catherine McAuley. I am sure you will all join me in welcoming Maggie Gorham to the McAuley family.
We also welcome aboard Janeen Toner -Wasil who will be replacing Susan Rodrigues as our Administration Officer.

This is an interesting e magazine published by the Council of Catholic School Parents. Please browse through this as there are some articles you may find of use.

PACE Meeting
Please join us for a PACE meeting on Wednesday 20th August, at 7pm. This meeting will be via zoom. A link will be shared with you all before this day via COMPASS. We will discuss the upcoming PACE events and the results of the survey sent to the parent community regarding the Melbourne Cup fundraiser. If you missed the link shared previously, and wish to have your say, please do so here. I will discuss some proposed changes to the school assessment and reporting procedures in response to parent feedback. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on zoom.

Please note the changes and additions to the calendar on the last page of this newsletter.
