Principals Report

"When students are well nourished, they’re better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive."

Welcome back to Term 3!

I’m delighted to share that this term marks the launch of our new Breakfast Program, funded by the Victorian Government and proudly supported by Foodbank Victoria. You will have received information about the program in your child’s bag this week. We are starting with fresh fruit bowls in every classroom, and over the coming weeks, we’ll expand to include more substantial breakfast options such as toast and cereal. All food offered will be healthy, nutritious, and available to all school-aged children at our school.

This week we have also been proudly celebrating NAIDOC Week, honouring the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It’s been a wonderful opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding and respect for First Nations culture and heritage.

Adding to the excitement, we had Real Life Wildlife visit our school today as part of a special incursion. There were plenty of wide eyes and excited squeals as students came face-to-face with snakes, lizards, and other fascinating creatures. Experiences like this help bring learning to life in such memorable ways.

We’re also thrilled to welcome several new staff members to our school community this term. Please make them feel at home as they settle in and get to know our wonderful students and families.

Finally, I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge our exceptional Assistant Principal team on what is International Principal Day. Their unwavering support, advocacy for our students, and the guidance they provide to staff and families every day are deeply valued and appreciated.

Wishing everyone a positive and productive term ahead.

Warm regards,

Lindy Abernethy

Principal
