Co-curricular - Senior Sport

It is good to be back! Saturdays are just not the same without SPC Sport with fantastic efforts from many teams and individuals last weekend.

Tennis

A false start for half of our tennis teams as all home games were washed out. Our away games went ahead, and the boys certainly made the most of the opportunity to play, with four of our teams defeating St Pius X, College. Special mention to the Eighth IV who pulled off a huge 7 – 1 victory, which was one of the strongest performances of the day. Well done to all involved and best of luck to all SPC Tennis Teams for Round 9 of the ISA Competition.

Football

A solid round of Football fixtures with 16 wins, one draw and 11 losses. There were some excellent results. We are particularly pleased to see all our A teams be victorious and a huge 11 goals to nil win from the First XI over Redlands School. Special mention to the Third XI who defeated St Pius X College’s Second XI, 3 goals to one, which made caretaker coach Ms Rocca incredibly proud. Well done to all involved and best of luck to all Football teams for Round 9.

An update from Day 1 of the NSW Football Schoolboys Competition – SPC Football Captain Alessandro Piccin scored a goal in what was a very strong start from NSW as they defeated Western Australia 3 goals to 1. On day two, NSW had a strong win with a 2 goals to 1 win over Victoria. Great win over the NSW rivals. Well done Alessandro!

ISA/CAS Crossover Kicks Off with a Strong Showing at Queens Park

The ISA/CAS Crossover began with a fantastic weekend of Rugby at Queens Park, taking on the renowned Waverley College. What many expected to be a day of struggle turned into a powerful display of resilience, heart, and College spirit.

Despite some narrow losses, our boys showed tremendous grit. Highlights included a superb win by the 16As, a thrilling high-scoring draw from the Mighty 5ths, and two incredibly entertaining matches from the First and Second XVs — both coming heartbreakingly close to fairytale finishes they truly deserved.

While not all results went our way, what we walk away with is more valuable: the courage to face elite opposition head-on, the pride in playing for our College, and the strength that comes from unity and commitment to our teammates.

A huge congratulations to all involved — your effort and attitude represented the BLUE, BLACK and GOLD with honour.

Looking ahead, we now turn our focus to another significant challenge in the form of Barker College. We’ll prepare, stay connected, and be ready to compete with the same heart and belief.

BLUE, BLACK and GOLD NEVER FOLD!
