Term 3, Week 3
Dear Parents and Carers,
Our Year 4 students attended their overnight camp at Alexandra Adventure Resort this week. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to build independence, connect with their peers and participate in a range of fun activities. Thank you to our Year 4 teachers and the additional staff, Mr Pietyk, Mrs Murray, Ms Harvey and Nurse Claudia, for attending and supporting our students. From all reports, students were very well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
It was great to see so many families attend our Year 3 Community Engagement Maths Night on Wednesday. Lots of healthy competition between students and parents, and many practical activities to take home. These nights strengthen the home and school partnership and have a positive impact on your child’s confidence, engagement and achievement. When parents attend school events, it sends a powerful message to children that their learning and school life are valued.
Next Tuesday, our Year 6 students will attend their Confirmation Retreat Day. This is an opportunity for our students to reflect on their faith journey as they prepare for the sacrament of Confirmation. They will participate in meaningful activities designed to deepen their understanding of the Holy Spirit's role in their lives and strengthen their commitment to their faith. On Thursday evening, parents are invited to attend the Family Faith Night with their child and child’s sponsor. It will be a time to reflect and share experiences together as your child prepares for Confirmation. On Friday, the Confirmation Candidates will meet with Bishop Rene Ramirez after the 9.15 am Mass of the Feast of the Assumption.
Father’s Day Breakfast: Our annual Father’s Day breakfast is fast approaching. This year our Father’s day Breakfast will be on Wednesday, 3rd September ( Romero/Teresa) or Thursday, 4th September (Kolbe /Samaritan). Due to limited space, the breakfast will be for fathers and school age children; unfortunately, we will not be able to cater for toddlers.
Doors will open at 7.40 am for a 7:45 am start. Dads are welcome to visit their child’s classrooms from 8.40-8.50 am. The cost will be $10.00 per adult ticket, and student tickets are free. To make a booking, please click on this link or the QR Code below: https://compasstix.com/e/uw5h89msit
Through the month of September, we will be raising money to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation. If you would like to contribute to this important cause, you can donate directly through the following link:

We would like to recognise one of our Year 4 students, Hayati who recently participated in the Victorian Junior Amateur Girls Golf and World Ranking event during the school holidays. Hayati secured the Girls Under 14 Net Championship title. Congratulations Hyati on a wonderful achievement.
Congratulations to our Year 6 soccer boys and netball girls who represented our school in the district finals. Although we didn’t get through to the regionals, it was a great achievement and we are very proud of our students who represented our school displaying excellent sportsmanship. Thank you to Mr Nario, Mr Cliff and Miss O’Keefe for coaching our students.
One of our favourite times of the year is celebrating Book Week; it’s a wonderful opportunity to promote the joy and importance of reading across our school community. Reading not only supports academic growth but also inspires imagination, creativity and a lifelong love of learning.
We will be having our annual Book Week parade on Friday, 22nd August at 9 am. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character. Parents are welcome to attend the parade. Looking forward to seeing the imaginative costumes our students come up with this year and of course, our staff!
Our Book Fair will also be open from Tuesday, 19th - Monday, 25th August, before and after school. There will be a range of books to purchase and a chance to expand your home library.
Our annual Feast Day is fast approaching. This year, we will be inviting students to participate in an Art Competition that will commence next week. Students are to create an artwork piece inspired by the image of Mary. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to express their faith and creativity through art. All entries must be submitted to Ms Goga by Friday, 5th September, and the winners will be announced at our Feast Day Celebration Mass on Friday, 12th September. We look forward to seeing the beautiful and thoughtful pieces our students create as part of this special celebration.
It was great to see everyone come to school in their pyjamas last Friday. Thank you to our families and staff for their contributions to this great cause. We managed to raise: $1042.60
School closure day this term: Monday 18th August
