PBIS

This week’s whole school focus is on 'Eating Times'. Teachers will be explicitly teaching the routine to children on the expected behaviours when children are eating outside at break times. Teachers will follow the principles of PBIS (Positive Behaviours Interventions & Supports) by:

Teach - Teach the appropriate skills and behaviours

Model - Model to students the appropriate skills and behaviours

Practise - Practise by acting out role plays

Acknowledge - Teachers will acknowledge students when they demonstrate the behaviours by positive reinforcement

Correct - By extra social skill instruction where needed.

E-Safety - School Social Media

In an effort to promote eSafety and keep our students safe online, we’ve decided that from now on St Therese’s will only post a side profile or back-of-head photos on our Social Media. For more information, have a read of this Safe on Social Parent insert: Why parents should reconsider sharing child images

Bullying - No Way

Bullying No Way: National week of action is next week.  This is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative and connects schools and communities to find workable solutions to prevent bullying.

Over the week we will have daily activities to spread awareness and a special focus at our Assembly.  There will be a different focus each day with videos and messages for the children.  Talk to your child/ren after school about what the message of the day was.

The theme for 2024 is 'Everyone Belongs'.

When we all feel like we belong, bullying struggles to find a place. It's about embracing who we are, respecting everyone's differences and standing up together against unkindness.

Belonging means we all have a role in preventing bullying. We're encouraged to speak up and create a safe place where everyone feels supported and respected, and our voices are heard and valued.
