St Norbert College will be hosting the Year 7 (2025) and New Students Information Evening on Thursday, September 5. This evening is crucial for students and families beginning their journey with us in 2025 providing important details about our transition program.
We request that both students and at least one parent or carer attend this event, which will start at 6:00 PM in the Fr Peter O’Reilly Centre. The evening will begin with an introductory session for the whole group, followed by smaller, informal breakout sessions. These sessions will provide more personalised presentations and discussions about what students can anticipate in the upcoming school year and how they can best prepare for a smooth transition.
We look forward to welcoming you and providing all the necessary information to ensure a successful start at St Norbert College in 2025.
The elective selection process for 2025 Year 8-10 classes has officially begun. Today, a special Year 7 Assembly was held to guide students through the steps of completing their elective choices for next year using Subject Selection Online (SSO).
Year 7 students have been notified via email that SSO is now open for them to make their elective selections for 2025. For current Year 8 and Year 9 students, SSO will also become available to select their electives for Year 9 and Year 10 in 2025. The deadline for all Lower School 2025 elective selections is Monday, August 19 (Week 3.06).
Once the selection process is complete, students must print out a copy of the 'Selection Report' and submit it to Student Services, signed by both the student and a parent. Detailed information about the available curriculum choices can be found on SEQTA in the 'Subject Selection Portal Page'.
Electronic copies of NAPLAN Individual Student Reports (ISRs) for Year 7 and Year 9 students have been uploaded to SEQTA Reports for your convenience. You may notice that the format of the reports has changed from previous years. Instead of using ‘Bands’ to show achievement levels, the reports now categorize performance into four categories: Exceeding, Strong, Developing, and Needs Additional Support. Despite this change, the NAPLAN Reports still provide valuable insights into your child's progress compared to both school and national standards.
SCSA Handbooks (Part I and II) are now available on SEQTA Documents and in the Year 12 Team. These handbooks are essential resources for all information related to graduation, examinations, student details, and certification.
In the coming weeks, students will receive a Graduation Class Organisational Booklet. This booklet will guide them through key events and provide essential information to help them prepare for final administrative requirements, Graduation and final examinations.
The preparations for Year 12 Graduation are progressing smoothly, thanks to the hard work of the Graduation Committee with assistance of Ms Magee, Ms Loh and Mrs Markich.
Below are some important dates that Year 12 students and their families should mark on their calendars:
The School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority) requests that Year 12 students sitting Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course examinations provide their mobile phone numbers via the student portal: https://studentportal.scsa.wa.edu.au
Should the Authority need to contact students during the ATAR examination period to advise about any changes to the examination timetable/s and/or venue/s, this will be done via a bulk Short Message Service (SMS).

Our Parent Committee is a group of parents who come together to provide opportunities for fellow parents to meet one another and participate in the life of the College. It’s not about fundraising, but what can be done to support students and bring parents together. The Parent Committee continue to organise wonderful events, such as the Mother’s Day and Father Day Breakfasts.
The Committee also welcomes new members who can support the great work they do for our school. If you are interested in learning more about the Parent Committee, please contact me at the College.

A reminder to parents that there are many resources available to keep children safe online. Having open and transparent conversations with your children about being safe online. The WA e-safety commissioner website is one such resource and covers a variety of topics, including screen time, gaming and unwanted behaviours online.
The WA Department of Health also produces a fact sheet for students and parents that discusses the legalities around sending and receiving intimate images. It is important that both students and parents are aware of the consequences of poor online behaviours.
