Parliamentary success...
In a previous newsletter, we told you about our grade 56s exciting opportunity. After visiting Parliament, the Grade 5/6 students discovered they could enter a 'Voice to Parliament' competition.
The timeframe was quite short.
Some students decided to pursue this endeavour and put themselves out there.
Independently, they navigated their topics and submitted their videos. We did a little work at school to facilitate the information and provided platforms for them to discuss during lunchtime.
All students received a participation certificate. However, two of our students, Adam El-Alo and Wesley Dahlqvist, received a highly commended award, placing them in the top 10% of applicants (1226 applicants across 200 schools). Adam received his certificate on his 12th birthday.
Needless to say, we are very proud of all the students who entered and ecstatic about Adam and Wesley's results.
