Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,

Students and staff have made a smooth transition into term three. The most rewarding thing about having clear expectations and procedures across the school is that it leaves no-one guessing. This is how we have been able to create calm classrooms where learning is in action all the time. 

You will all have received an invitation to book a timeslot for a conference with your child and one of their teachers sometime over the next few weeks. The students have been selecting pieces of work, practising their scripts and are generally really excited to be able to share their learning goals with you. 

Below you can see the current numbers of those who have or have not booked a timeslot. I cannot speak highly enough of what a great experience this can be for all involved. If you cannot fit into any of the timeslots with your child in over the next two weeks please contact the teachers for a different week and timeslot. 

The message children take away when you attend a conference with them is that you value what they do, you care about their progress and long term success, you believe they are a learner. This is very powerful and helps build a growth mindset within each student. 

If you don't book a time, you don’t show interest, then what is the message your child takes away? It’s heartbreaking to see the faces of some children when they say their parents are not coming. We will fit in with you to help make it happen!
