From the Chaplain

This will be the last time I’ll be writing in the Anchor before I leave Great Southern Grammar and start work at a new school.  I have had a great time while I have been here, as I have met so many lovely families.  I will really miss the students here, from the sweet, little Pre-Primary students all the way up to the cheeky Year Twelve students.

What do I want you to know before I leave?  Well, three things:

That you are not here by accident.  God has a purpose and a plan for your life.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Even when things are going wrong, God is the one constant in your life.  He promises to never leave you.  Don’t feel that you can never come to God, he will always be there for you.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Jesus is alive!  This means that when we die, it is not the end for us. If your not sure whether all this stuff is real, investigate.  Read up about the evidence of Jesus, pray and ask God to reveal himself.  Your pray might sound like this, ‘God if your real, make yourself know to me.’  I know numerous atheists who have tried to prove God doesn’t exist and have come back to say, ‘actually, Jesus is alive and I think he is the Son of God.’  Don’t leave your investigating until it is too late.  If you died tonight, do you know where you would go?

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

Make his face shine upon you,

And give you peace.
