Prep

Term 3 has started with a bang! We have already packed so much into these first few weeks of term (as you will see below), with so much more to come, like the rest of our gymnastics sessions, our 'Fairytale Fiasco' incursion and our fairytale-inspired Prep Production. What a busy and exciting term ahead!

100 Days Brighter!

On Monday the 5th, we celebrated our 100 days of school! The theme was '100 Days Brighter' to reflect on how far our students have come as brave school people who have learnt so much already! Students wore bright colours and contributed an item for lunch, which really gave the day a celebratory feel.

The day was all about 100! We brought '100 things' to count, made a special crown, reflected on what we're proud of, participated in a 100 fitness challenge and ended the day with a dance party!

We are so proud of what our Preps have achieved so far. We thank all of our Prep families for the love and support you've provided for your child/ren as you have helped them navigate their first 100 days of school.

Gymnastics

The preps have loved their first two sessions of gymnastics! In the mornings, it is the first thing that is mentioned as soon as students enter the classroom, and we excitedly anticipate it all day! Our first bus trip together was also a source of great excitement.

At gymnastics, students participate in activities that include balancing, tumbling, swinging, and best of all, jumping into the foam pit and making their way across.

Thank you to the parents who help each week - it is a great assistance to us, and your children love seeing you ther

Prep 'Welcome' Garden

We were lucky enough to get some beautiful winter weather in the first few weeks of school and it has been wonderful to see the preps enjoying their lovely, improved play space. Students have loved taking toys into the space to enhance their play, such as using pots, pans and utensils at the mud kitchen, building elaborate playscapes and tunnels in the sandpit and enjoying the chalk on the chalkboards in the cubby.

Again, we would like to thank all the families who donated items, and the parents who volunteered their time at the working bee. It really made the hard work in the last week of term so worth it, to see how well the space is being used.

CBL - Respect

This term, we are exploring the Big Idea of 'Respect' in two ways.

We are thinking about what it means to show respect to ourselves, to others and to the world around us.

We will also take a deep dive into Fairytales, and how the characters in these stories demonstrate qualities of respect (or more often ... disrespect!). We have some exciting activities planned for this investigation, including an incursion called Fiarytale Fiasco, STEM building activity where students will create a castle from boxes, and a Prep Production based on fairytales. Our very own Performing Arts teacher, Tim, is writing the script. It is going to be a wonderful event for our Preps and we can't wait to start rehearsing!
