Grade 3 and 4

What's Happening

We have had a chilly start to term 3 with the crisp winter mornings creating foggy landscapes in our beautiful school grounds. The first few weeks back have been about reconnecting with our friends and classroom communities, setting learning goals and revisiting class agreements to ensure we have a positive start to the second half of the year.

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden

With the arrival of the colder weather, we have kept our bellies warm with the delicious recipes we have prepared in the kitchen. Our students learned about the history of Cornish Pasties and handmade pasty to prepare these, yum! Thank you to all of our kitchen and garden volunteers; we could not run such an amazing program and experience for our  3/4 students without your time and support. We encourage anyone who is interested in helping out to register.

CBL

In CBL we are exploring 'Respect' - where our students are exploring the Hierarchy of Needs, Respect for Self,  and understanding 'Window Of Tolerance'. Students have been working independently and collaboratively on a variety of activities.

TRIBES

In our Tribes the the 3/4 students have been exploring a country to represent and made flags for the the country their Tribe represented at WPPS Olympics Day; what a wonderful whole school community day this was.

Dulcie's Exceptional Achievement

Interview with Dulcie...

  • I'm so proud of qualifying for for School Sports Australia competition because only the top three competitors get to go. My mum and I are going to Adelaide to compete. We get to stay in a hotel with some of my other friends from Aquanation. It's going to be so much fun.
  • There are three events - the Synchro, The Knock out and the Individual.
  • I'm not sure what my favourite dive is, but possibly the reverse dive. It's really fun. The hardest dive is the inward 1 and a bit on the three-metre board.
  • I've been diving for about one and a half years. It started when we were in the pool in Autumn and I started a competition with my brother. Then my mum asked if I wanted to try diving at a club and so we went to Auquanation, which is the 2nd biggest squad I think.
  • I train six days a week. I practice all the time as I have a trampoline at my house, which helps with my style.

Congratulations to Dulcie, in 4A, on her selection in the Victorian School Diving Team!

Such a wonderful achievement! We are all very proud of you Dulcie, and wish you every success!
