NAPLAN
NAPLAN results for students in Years 3, 5 7 & 9 have arrived. These reports have been mailed home to families this week. Please note that NAPLAN proficiency levels changed in 2023 so the results may look different to the last time your child completed the assessments. Please also note that St Augustine’s had a number of technical issues during the assessment period which may have affected your child’s results (as communicated at the time).
Please take the time to talk with your child about their results and that this is only one form of feedback around their literacy and numeracy competence – it is not an assessment on them as a person.
If you require further advice, support or feedback regarding your child’s NAPLAN results, please reach out to your child’s TA.
Subject Teacher Conversations
Our Semester 2 Subject Teacher Conversations will be taking place on Monday 26 August (Week 7). Bookings for these will be made available in the coming weeks. If you wish to book a double session, please contact your child’s TA who will be able to do this for you. Please note that this day will be student-free, however students can attend the conversations with their parent/caregiver.
ICAS Assessments
We are delighted to inform you that students at St Augustine’s College will again have the opportunity to participate in the world-renowned ICAS competition this year. Please note that the decision to participate must come from the family and that costs are involved.
What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher
order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing,
Spelling Bee and Digital Technologies.
Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for
recognition and development. Every student who participates will receive a printed
certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.
